
Orders for HITT and HITT subsidiary Klein Systems
Airports in China and Egypt select air traffic control systems HITT
Apeldoorn/The Netherlands, 30 June 2010 - The Air Traffic Management Bureau of CAAC, the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration, has selected HITT for the fifth time to provide a ground movement control system, this time in Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. With 22 million passengers in 2009 and an increase of 16% passengers a year, the airport is the sixth busiest airport in China. The system will be operational within ten months.
The Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (SMGCS) is a state of the art system that assists air traffic controllers with quick, safe and efficient guidance of aircraft and vehicles on the airport in all weather conditions.
The National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) in Egypt has also selected HITT for the extension of the existing air traffic control system for Cairo International Airport. Part of the contract, the multilateration system, which accurately locates aircraft on the airport by using a large number of sensors, will be delivered by ERA and will be operational within 18 months. Cairo is the second busiest airport in terms of passengers and number one in freight volume on the African continent.
HITT was also awarded orders for system extensions for the Swedish and German Air Traffic Control organizations.
The contracts together have a value of EUR 5 million.
Port Management System
Klein Systems Group Ltd. (Klein) will supply the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) with a comprehensive billing system. The Port of Los Angeles is the busiest container port in the U.S. and the 8th busiest port in the world. The Canadian subsidiary of HITT is providing the world’s leading port operations management billing and invoicing capabilities. These systems support the maritime traffic guidance in ports, financial handling and the exchange of information with third parties, including agents, suppliers and other external users.
