Tianjin Grand Opening: ADB reinforces presence in China
The grand opening of ADB’s new manufacturing plant in Tianjin on May 10th is a new milestone for ADB, as it consolidates its presence in China and the Asia Pacific Region. The new plant will rank as the Group’s third biggest manufacturing center, supporting the supply chain management structure and further strengthening the position of ADB on the Asian market.
Zaventem / Belgium May 31, 2011 - The opening ceremony was widely attended by some 150 guests from civil aviation, airports, design and engineering firms, main contractors, China Airport Construction Corporation (CACC) – a key player in the Asian airport construction and engineering market –, government representatives, university delegates and Belgian Ambassador to China Mr. Patrick Nijs among other partners. Following the establishment of ADB Airfield Technology in Beijing about 2.5 years ago, starting up this new manufacturing plant marks an important additional step in the Group’s growth strategy on the Chinese and Asian market.
ADB as a sustainable partner
The ADB Tianjin plant, located within the Tianjin Aviation Industry Development Base, will be the third global manufacturing center – after our manufacturing facilities in Belgium and the US – in the supply chain management structure of ADB. Representing a multi-million Euro investment, ADB Tianjin covers an area of 4500 m2.
Highest quality and safety standards
Tianjin will produce ADB’s portfolio of lights, signs, regulators and systems, supplying not only the Chinese market but also the whole Asia Pacific region, India, Russia, Brazil and other emerging economies. In addition to manufacturing, Tianjin will carry out research and offer a choice of training courses, thus becoming a sustainable partner for China’s booming airport infrastructure. With a local team for Research, Development and Engineering, ADB will respond more quickly and flexibly to the needs of the local market, which is fully in-line with its highest service and quality standards.
Commitment to local markets and customers
The commitment of ADB in China runs deep. ADB China will actively support airports, the civil aviation authority, design and engineering firms, main contractors and partners in achieving a common objective: to offer the highest standards of quality and safety at Chinese and other Asian airports. As a result, the complete ADB global management team from Belgium, US, Germany, South-Africa, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia attended the opening ceremony, in order not only to share ADB’s passion for airfield solutions with customers and partners, but also to demonstrate its commitment to local markets and customers.
