Hamburg Airport is cooperating with DLR and DFS to install an A-SMGCS Test platform in 2008 for the evaluation of future A-SMGCS developments.
Hamburg, January 18, 2008 – German Aerospace Center (DLR), DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (German Air Traffic Services) and Hamburg Airport signed cooperation contract to install a Test platform in addition to an “Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System” (A-SMGCS) at Hamburg Airport.
The Test platform will be used for validating innovative functions in the context of research projects in a real operational environment. The DLR will start to install the Test platform in early 2008 to support the national research projects CARMA (Car Management on Aprons) and WFF (Competitive Airport) before the A-SMGCS will be operational by the end of 2008.
